Dance team makes summer plans

The Purr-fections dance team plans to get a head start this summer by fundraising with car washes and holding practices.

“I think it will be good to get a head start so that way we can get our routine done before the season starts,” Stephanie Shaw said. “And we will have a bunch of time to clean and perfect it for competition.”

The varsity  team has six scheduled practices in June where members will learn their jazz competition dance. The routine also will be performed at a competition next January.

“I think the stuff we are doing this summer is going to be really fun,” sophomore Erica Denni said. “There is going to be a lot of hard work, but we will have a lot of time to bond and have fun together.”

Both dance teams will also hold car washes during the summer to raise money for new uniforms and to pay next year’s competition fees.

“The car washes are hopefully going to successful over the summer because it will be hot and everyone will want to get their cars washed.” Shaw said.

Members of the team also plan to spend time together outside of practices and car washes.

“We will probably hang out all the time over summer,” Denni said. “We are all really close so we will probably go to the beach, the movies and other places all the time.”
