Culture club practices origami

President Brittany Cho and Asian Culture Club members like Rebecca Castillo practiced origami while watching “Spirited Away” during their most recent club meeting.

“‘Spirited Away’  is about a girl who gets transported to a different world. Chihiro gets on the spirits’ bad side so they transform her parents into pigs,” Cho said. “It’s a very interesting movie. During it we are also practicing origami.”

Freshman Castillo expressed interested in the traditional Japanese art of folding paper.

“A lot of people think its hard and very delicate,” Castillo said. “Once you get the hang of it, it’s easy.”

Freshmen Christopher Schaefer preferred to focus on the movie.

“I loved watching ‘Spirited Away,’” Schaefer said. “It brought back memories from when I used to watch it as a kid.”
