“Trolls” fans look forward to new movie release Friday

“Trolls Band Together” will be released Friday, and is a threequel that tells the story of Poppy, Branch and their troll friends going on an adventure. Poppy finds out that Branch was once in a boy band called “BroZone” with his brothers, Floyd, John Dory, Spruce and Clay. Once Floyd is kidnapped, Branch and Poppy go on another adventure to reunite with his two other brothers and rescue Floyd. The trailer, released Sept. 14, announced the return of NSYNC to music, with their portrayal of Branch’s brothers in the new movie.

“I am a Trolls fanatic,” sophomore Ava French said. “I don’t own any Trolls paraphernalia, but I watch every movie that comes out. I am so excited because they have the early 2000s boy band music in it, and that was what I live for.”

French said she is hopeful for what the movie will show.

“Usually I like movies that are so stupid that they make me laugh uncontrollably, and I think that’s exactly what all of the Trolls movies do, so I expect this one to do the same,” French said.

History teacher Geoffery Bramlett, who said he is a Trolls fan, has been awaiting the release of the movie.

“I hope the new one recreates the magic of the first,” Bramlett said.

As someone who loves Trolls, Bramlett said he hopes that the movie will have all the right factors.

“You’ve got to have the right voice actors,” Bramlett said. “I’m hoping they have all the originals, and that’s what makes it for me. The animation, whatever, you can take it or leave it, but the voice actors make it.”

The Trolls movies are known for various themes, and there are expectations for how they will portray various subjects in this movie, according to French.

“I hope it shows love, togetherness and brotherhood as Branch is reunited with his brothers,” French said.
