Students share their spring break dream vacation ideas

In many game shows, the big win is often an all-expenses-paid vacation to an exotic location. However, the ultimate trip can come in various shapes and sizes depending on the person. Sophomore Grace Mannix said she dreams about going on a Mediterranean holiday.

“If I could go anywhere in the world for spring break, I would go to Greece,” Mannix said. “I loved watching ‘Mama Mia’ when I was young — I still do, actually — and I guess I’ve always wanted to live life like that. Also, the food there seems so good, and I really want to swim in the crystal-clear water.”

Freshman Belen Castillo said she would rather spend her vacation time on a Polynesian island soaking up the sun.

“Hawaii is definitely my dream vacation,” Castillo said. “I’ve never been, and I just love the beach and pretty much anything sunny. It seems so pretty and colorful.”

Freshman Zoey DiOrio said she enjoys visiting Cyprus, as it is familiar to her.

“I was born in Cyprus, so it’s definitely my dream spring break trip,” DiOrio said. “I love to see my hometown and my family. My mom’s whole side of the family is up there, including my grandparents, so we usually stay with them and we always spend time with them and go to the beautiful beaches.”

Freshman Eleanor Alderman said she would want to spend her time touring multiple places.

“If I didn’t have to worry about the cost, I would go on a seven-day cruise through Europe for a spring vacation,” Alderman said. “I’ve always wanted to go to Europe to see the beaches and historical spots. I also love cruises because they’re really relaxing and there’s always opportunities for fun. Realistically, I’d go with my family, but for my dream vacation I would go with my friends.”
