During Wildcat Challenge, the junior and senior homerooms will compete against each other in activities such as the Brain Bowl, Hotshot Challenge, Wildlife Race, volleyball and tug-of-war on March 22.
Junior Athan Zaiden is in Anthony Raheb’s homeroom.
“Our flag is ‘Raheb’s Rangers,'” he said. “I like our theme since we’re dressing up as cowboys. I have faith in my class that we will make it far in the challenge.”
Homerooms can also earn awards for things such as having the best costume.
“Our homeroom is ‘Melanie’s Moos,'” junior Devin Haave said. “We have great outfits, but we don’t want to spoil the surprise, so catch us outside — you’ll know it’s us.”
A set number of boys and girls participate in each activity.
“I’m doing volleyball since I play that in gym class all the time, and I know I’m going to make my homeroom proud,” Haave said.
The annual tradition will take place in the gym this year due to weather concerns.
“I’m looking forward to the Wildcat challenge since this is my first time and I’ve seen all other previous Challenges,” Zaiden said. “This reminds me of field day in elementary.”
The event will take place on the last day of school before spring break.
“What a perfect way to end the week and transition to our break,” Haave said. “I’m pumped for this challenge and spring break.”
