Art students create works for Brevard County Bar Association Law Day contest

Art students are working on their submissions for an award opportunity alongside other schools in the county for the annual Brevard County Bar Association Law Day art contest. The deadline for all submissions is April 5.

The BCBA contest is available for all students ages K-12 in Brevard. Students are to create art with the theme “Voices of Democracy.”

“We always participate,” art teacher Jelena Robbins said. “It’s an annual celebration for the law, and our art helps bring that to life.”

The three best pieces of artwork will be awarded cash prizes. Grades 3-5 will receive $200, grades 6-8 will receive $350, and grades 9-12 will receive $650.

“The cool thing about this art contest is that it’s been a thing for a long, long time,” digital art teacher James Finch said. “It’s always a great opportunity for students to create and use their imagination and maybe earn an award for their work.”
