Coach holds optional cheer practices

Last week, cheerleaders practiced in the gym, despite the season being over. With only one pep rally left in the school year, Coach Carrie Wadzinski is hosting optional practices.

“Anybody is welcome to come and practice with us,”  Wadzinski said. “I’m hoping to see new faces and returning cheerleaders.”

In order to participate in the practices, students will need a sports physical and parental consent form.

“Last week we had three students come and participate, as well as some of our current team,” Wadzinski said. “It’s a good way for them to see whether or not cheerleading is for them. I also like seeing their skills and being able to help them improve before tryouts.”

Additional optional practices will be held Friday and on March 23 in the gym and April 6 in the cafeteria.

“Them being there gives them a leg up,” Wadzinski said. ”It shows me that they are dedicated and willing to go the extra mile to prove themselves.”
If there are any questions regarding cheerleading and tryouts, please e-mail Wadzinski at [email protected]
