Cheer for Charity set for Saturday
February 16, 2016
West Shore cheerleaders are hosting their ninth annual Cheer for Charity event Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. in the school gymnasium. The squad will teach students ages 5-12 different cheers, chants, stunts, dances and jumps.
“I’ve been every year to Cheer for Charity, both as a camper and as a staffer,” senior Ashlynn Kellner said. “My favorite thing is the show we put on at the end where the kids show their parents what they learned because they’re so happy and proud of themselves. We always find out how much money we made to donate to the Cancer Care foundation, and it makes me feel really good to know that we made a difference in our community, both for the kids and the charity.”
Pre-registration is $25 and ends Wednesday. Registration is $35 at the door and depends on availability. Space is limited to the first 75 campers. Sign-in will be held from 9 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and an closing showcase and awards ceremony is scheduled to begin at 3:15 p.m.. Campers should wear comfortable clothes and tennis shoes. Lunch and snacks will be provided. All proceeds go to the Cancer Care Center of Brevard. All checks must be made payable to the “Cancer Care Foundation of Brevard.” Send registration and checks to:
