Cheer event will benefit Cancer Care Foundation of Brevard

West Shore Cheerleaders are hosting an event called “Cheer for Charity” to raise money for the Cancer Care Foundation of Brevard. At Cheer for Charity the cheerleaders invite approximately 50 elementary children to campus and teach them how to be cheerleaders. It cost $20 per child for entry, and all the funds go to the Cancer Care Foundation of Brevard.

Senior Mckenzie Curtis is one of the main leaders for organizing the event.

“Cheer for Charity is a fun event that lasts all day from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m,” Curtis said. “It’s nice because it’s fun to see all the younger kids having a great time and it’s nice to know that it is also for a good cause.”

Sophomore Bekah Crews said she’s looking forward to the event.

“I am super-excited to attend Cheer for Charity and to help the cancer care foundation,” Crews said. “At the end of the day it will feel good to know that we helped make and impact on those who are sick to get better.”

Throughout the years, West Shore cheerleaders have raised more than $15,000 to the Cancer Care Foundation of Brevard by hosting Cheer for Charity.
