Boys’ tennis holds clean sheet against Palm Bay

The boys’ tennis team takes shut out Palm Bay 8-0 Thursday at the Hoover Middle School courts.

“They weren’t much of a threat last year, so all we had to do is play our game,” freshman Nathan Foo said. “I’ve been working on my overhead swing ever since the Viera game, and it has been helping me put more offense into my game”

Freshman Hunter Scott said the outcome was never in doubt.

“I knew we were going to win, but it was like a cherry on top when we held them off for all eight sets,” he said.

Freshman Vaughn Addington said he hopes the team will build on this accomplishment.

“Hopefully we can keep this energy for other challenging schools like Holy Trinity and Melbourne,” he said. “Any match we play is experience used to improve how we play but it’s good that the team was able to keep Palm Bay at bay. Hopefully we can use the same mentality for any school we go against.”
