Boys soccer mercy rules Cocoa Beach

The boys’ varsity soccer team knocked off Cocoa Beach 8-0 in the district tournament opener Wednesday.

“I think we played well as a team with passing and movement off the ball,” junior Abe Murphy said. “But we make too many mistakes when we have possession. We need to make our execution with the ball perfect.”

Senior Matthew Moscrip scored the last of three second-half goals.

“I thought my goal was all right,” Moscrip said. “The build up play to the goal was the best part.”

The next game for the team is against Melboune Central Catholic on Friday night at Space Coast High School.
