Boys’ lacrosse downs John Carroll

Senior Jon Saladino had five assists to lead the boys’ lacrosse team past John Carroll Catholic 12-5 in its second victory of the season Monday.

“All of the younger players got experience on the field, which will be beneficial in the long run. We tried different substitutions and used it as a learning experience,” Saladino said. ” We played well, but we could have played better.”

Sophomore Chris Johnson said new Coach Dan Scheuerr deserves some of the credit for the victory.

“Our new coach is great,” Johnson said. “He is Knowledgeable about lacrosse and is really passionate. Our practices are well-structured and we are able to cover important things while learning and having fun. We played very well as a team. The first quarter we were a little shaky, but we started gaining momentum into the second quarter.”

The next game will be Friday at Edgewood, starting at 7 p.m.
