Boys’ lacrosse begins to look ahead

The boys’ lacrosse season is nearing an end, which leaves many players look forward to next year after taking another loss against Holy Trinity on Friday night. The team currently holds a 10 percent success ratio which is partially due to the loss of senior Kyle Fitzgerald, one of the teamÆs best players and it’s only senior.

“I tore my MCL as well as my previously torn ACL and being the only senior on the team wasn’t a huge loss but a big loss to the defense,” Fitzgerald said. “One of the younger players had to step up to the plate.”

When the school season ends most of the team will transfer over to club play for one of the Space Cost Stingray teams.

“Playing for a club team allows us to keep our skill up over the summer and play with high-level players from different schools,” junior Zack Bursk said. “We play against other travel teams from around the state which helps build skills necessary to do well for our school team.”

The next game is against Cocoa Beach High at Cocoa Beach on Wednesday.
