Boys‘ lacrosse assistant steps down

Coach Andrew Madden usually would be found cheering on the boys’ lacrosse team from the sidelines. However, the assistant coach gave up his duties after Winter Break.

“He was an inspirational coach and helped keep the team happy and inspired, so we will have to motivate each other more,” Nicholas McKnight (12) said.

McKnight said the team plans to persevere.

“Our captains will continue to better the team, ” McKnight said. “They are amazing at what they do and they will definitely do their best.”

“Mr. Madden was able to make corrections at the games to help the team,” Zachary Johnson (9) said. “However our coaches are still able to help the team.”

But to be sure the former physics teacher will be missed on the field.

“He brought an experience factor that was certainly beneficial to the team,” Johnson said. “Losing him has more of a moral effect on the team, as we all really liked Mr. Madden.”

The team is optimistic about the upcoming season despite Madden leaving.

“Mr. Madden was able to make corrections at games to help the team,” Johnson said. “Our coaches are still able to help out the team.”
