Boys’ basketball set to begin spring open gym

The boys’ basketball team is set to begin open gyms on April 18. During the open gyms, returning players, as well as boys who have not had the chance to play for the junior varsity or varsity basketball teams have the opportunity to showcase their talents and prepare for next season.

“I am really excited to be starting open gyms again,” junior Khalil Paul said. “This year’s open gym will be different than the past because we have a whole new group of young guys, but it should be fun.”

Sophomore Carl Koko said having open gyms during the spring has many advantages.

“During the open gyms, we get to play a lot with each other and get a feel for how everyone plays,” he said. “It might not seem like it, but team chemistry is a major factor in separating good teams from great teams.”

The open gym days will be held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
