Boys’ basketball rally falls a point short

The varsity boys’ basketball team dropped to 5-4 on the regular season after a 45-44 loss to John Carroll on Dec. 18.

The Wildcats, who were behind by 14 points going into the fourth quarter, mounted a solid comeback, outscoring John Carroll 20-7 and cutting the lead to 1.

Senior forward Justin Laneuville led the Wildcats with 14 points and six rebounds. Other contributors included senior point guard Scott Adams who had 11 points and four assists, and senior center John Bond who had 12 points and six rebounds.

“We did not play well for three quarters,” Coach Tony Riopelle said. “Then we tried to storm back and came up short in the fourth quarter.  This has been a recurring theme with us this year.  We need to learn to play hard for a full 32 minutes and we will be fine.”
