Boys’ basketball falls just short vs. Cocoa

Senior Adam Kline scored 17 points, but the boys’ basketball team fell to the district’s No. 1 seeded Cocoa Tigers. The Wildcats trailed by 2 points with 1:30 left in the fourth quarter, but the Tigers pulled away and went on to win 39-33.

“Although I am proud of our performance tonight we cannot settle for such close defeats,” Coach Tony Riopelle said. ” We played with determination and competed with one of the best teams in Central Florida until the final buzzer.”

On Monday night, junior Anthony Wattwood scored 17 points Monday against Fort Pierce Westwood, though it was not enough as the Panthers went on to win 49-46. Panthers guard Raheed-Muhammed scored a 3-point field goal with 20 seconds left in the game.

” We went up against a tough team tonight,” Assistant Coach Robert Salazar said. “The team played extremely hard and all we needed was just a couple more shots to fall and we would of came out victorious.”
