Boys’ basketball adds four new players

Tryouts have been held and the team has been set. Sophomores Bennett Kent, Chase Burton, Henry Pavlick and junior James Leonard will join the nine varsity basketball players on the court when preseason play opens next week.

“I think I bring a good sense of offense to the table, but I’m also looking forward to learning from the seniors and preparing for the next three years with the program,” said Burton, who will play point guard.

Having a mostly veteran team should be an asset, according to junior forward Daniel Shelton.

“We already have established a sense of chemistry between us,” he said. The team dynamic is only going to get deeper and stronger as we continue to practice, play together and learn each other’s playing style.”

The team will play its first preseason game Nov. 19.
