Antenucci’s late goal boosts girls’ lacrosse

Junior Rae Antenucci scored the winning goal with 30 seconds remaining in the game to defeat Merritt Island 7-6 in the girls’ lacrosse home game Monday night.

“I got there at half-time so I wanted to help the team as best as a I could,” Antenucci said. “So I went out there and tried my hardest, I was lucky the shot went in.”

With a lot of fouls called at the last game the girls we more cautious.

“Our main challenge of the game was that the refs were being stricter on fouling, so we had to monitor how clean we played and almost restrain from getting too crazy,” sophomore Steph Delgado said.

The girls’ next game will beat home against Viera High School on Thursday at 6 p.m.
