MS boys edge Indians in double OT

Brendon K. made a 3-pointer as regulation time expired and the boys’ middle-school basketball team went on to defeat Edgewood 58-51 in double overtime Tuesday night.

“After getting pounded by Edgewood by 28 points the first time we played, the boys have improved immensely,” Coach Robert Salazar said. “ We defeated them by 3 points at home the last time we played, then last night we showed them we would never quit as we pulled off a victory at Edgewood.”

The close victory could give the team some momentum as it prepares for the final game of the season Thursday at home against Cocoa Beach.

“I’m really proud of the team, and I am looking forward to the last game of the season,” Coach Tony Riopelle said.
