Short-handed girls shut out THS

Girls’ varsity soccer captured a 3-0 win Friday night against Titusville High School. Senior Amanda Farthing assisted the first goal to Erica Lobmeyer and scored the second.

“There was a really nice set-up between Ashley Pekmezian and Brittany Etrick,” Farthing said. “I saw the play was building up, and I ran up the center. Brittany passed it to me to score the goal.”

Sophomore Ashley Pekmezian scored the third goal off a penalty kick.

“We were nervous going into the game because we were missing seven players and most were starters,” Pekmezian said. “The other team was physical, but we pulled through, and I thought we played a very good possession game.”

The girls play again Tuesday night at Harmony High School.
