Varsity members Keiran Sheridan, Hope Daughtry, Erin Sheridan, and Brady Kelsey perform in a December dance competition.

Last Monday, the West Shore Purrfections competed in the Universal Dance Association’s Regional competition at Seminole High school in Sanford. The varsity team received third place in both pom and jazz. The team was pleasantly surprised with the outcome of the competition.

“I couldn’t believe that we received third,” junior Alicia Ortiz said. “The first and second place teams are required to take dance as part of their curriculum, so the fact that we stood up to them was amazing.”

The middle school Purrfections received second place in their pom routine and the JV team received sixth place in jazz.

“I was really surprised that we did so well,” freshman Katelyn Kent said. “We performed against performing arts schools and I loved watching them perform.”

This is the best the Purrfections have ever done in this competition.
