Lady Wildcats look forward to their match against Viera

The girls’ tennis team will be traveling to take on Viera on Thursday, March 2. In last year’s match against the Hawks the Lady ‘Cats fell 0-7.

“I am hoping to use this match to help me prepare for some of the harder teams we will be playing this year.” seventh-grader Tehya B. said. “I want to work on getting my first serve in more often because my opponent isn’t usually ready for it and it will be helpful to my game if I can get it in more.”

For freshman Maci Pekmezian, Thursday will be her second match playing at line 1 after winning her first against MCC earlier this season.

“I am not sure how I will do because Viera is a very good team and I have heard that their line 1 is ranked in the state.” Pekmezian said. “I am excited to play line 1, but I know it will be a very challenging match that will be difficult to win.”

The next home match for the girls, at the Hoover tennis courts in Indialantic, is March 9 at 4 p.m. against Satellite.
