Girls’ varsity soccer adds five

Sixty-three girls tried out for the girls’ junior varsity and varsity soccer teams, but a total of only 44 made it for the two teams combined.

“It’s great to have 63 talented girls come out but we unfortunately can’t keep them all for JV and varsity,” varsity Assistant Coach Chuck Keener said.

Varsity took on five new players, including three sophomores and two freshmen, for a total of 22 girls.

“I’m actually pretty excited for the new girls on the team because I believe they will bring a lot of legitimate talent for this year and the future,” junior varsity player Erin Berube said.

The Pre-season Classic will be held Oct. 25 at Vero Beach High School at 7 p.m. The Wildcats’ first regular game of the season will kick off at home on Nov. 2 against Eau Gallie. The JV game will start at 5 p.m. and the varsity game will begin at 7 p.m.
