Dancers to perform competition routine at Friday pep rally

The Purrfections dance team will take an opportunity to show off their latest moves during Friday’s pep rally. JV dancers will be performing at the middle school pep rally in the auditorium while varsity dancers will dance at the high school pep rally in the gym.

“Varsity and JV are doing their routines they competed at competition,” Coach April Shaw said.

The pep rallies give dancers an opportunity to perform for an audience which differs from basketball and soccer games.

“I like the bigger audience. It gives us a chance to show our peers who don’t go to the games what we can do,” Shaw said. “At games, there are more parents rather than the dancers’ peers.”

Pep rallies allow the team to show teachers and students what they have been working on all year.

“I love the fact that I can do what I love to do in front of all of my friends, and they can see how happy dance makes me,” said junior Jennifer Garrido, varsity dance team member. “Pep rallies let our team demonstrate our school spirit. As a team, we can show off our Wildcat pride.”
