Boys’ soccer falls to Montverde

Despite a strong effort against one of the top teams in the nation, Montverde Academy, the boys’ soccer team could not overcome the Falcons . Senior captain Tyler Moscrip scored the single goal in a 2-1 game with a header assisted by a corner kick by sophomore Aidan Wixted.“We played well defensively, but we seemed to have problems when we won the ball,” Moscrip said. “We seemed to want to hit long balls to get the ball out of our half which isn’t out style of play.”

The team sees the loss as a good learning experience, according to Moscrip.

“Now we know we need to work on keeping possession of the ball and quick passes to help get out of tight areas against good teams like Montverde,” Moscrip said.
