Sibling synergy

Leading up to a first-place finish, senior Shaye Wilson and her brother Shaun, a junior, perform a dance routine to Taylor Swift’s “I Knew You Were Trouble” during the Junior Class talent show held in the school auditorium Tuesday night. “I was just having the most fun I could have and making sure I could appeal to the crowd,” Shaun said. “We orginally planned to practice a lot more than we actually did, so we kind of had to throw things together. But we finished the night before and got to practice a few times before we actually performed. Shaun added that through the years, Shaye has helped him become a better performer. “She was always in the spotlght when she was little,” he said. “When I got to West Shore, she kind of took me under her wing and helped me open up.” The event featured more than 20 acts. Judges included math teacher Don Gornto and science teachers Alexandra Michaels,  Paula Ladd, Mary Anderson and Gabrielle Powers.
