After the bird breakout during Hurricane Andrew in 1993, parrots have now flown their way into wildcat territory. Senior Kelly Hambel caught one during second lunch. “I looked out the window and saw it in the tree. I stood on the fence and held a stick up, he climbed right on it,” Hambel said. The parrot stayed perched in the art room the remainder of the day as the students worked on their art.
