The new school lunch guidelines state that the lunches have to be under 850 calories. These guidelines don’t makes sense for a couple of reasons. Athletes eat more calories a day then the average person. So cutting back on those calories puts these student athletes at risk. It leaves kids hungry and they become tired more quickly through the day. The new guidelines were designed to help kids eat healthier, but they don’t make a whole lot of sense.
