Night of Broadway postponed to Feb. 23

Night of Broadway, originally scheduled for Friday, has been postponed until Feb. 23 due to boys’ varsity soccer playing in the state championships that night.

The third annual event invites students in grades seven through 12, parents and faculty to perform pieces made famous in New York’s  renowned theater distict.

The idea to postpone came from performing arts teacher Maureen Fallon. After hearing about the game, she thought the best idea would be to reschedule.

“I thought of the idea to postpone Night of Broadway because I want everyone to go to the game,” Fallon said, “I didn’t want them to have to choose between the two.”

Assistant Principal Jim Melia approved the change.

“It’s a good thing because soccer is having an amazing season,” Melia said. “And the musical theater department is always in support of [our] athletics.”

Junior Stephanie Delgado is on board for the new night.

“I’m glad that it moved,” Delgado said. “Now I can do both. I really didn’t want to miss the soccer game.”
