The dance team will hold tryouts Monday, Tuesday and Friday for new and existing members.

“There is not a limit to how many girls will make the team,” dance team coach April Shaw said. “But they will be scored by independent judges, and there will be a certain score they have to reach to be a part of the team.”

Tryouts on Monday and Tuesday will be after school from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and on Friday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. All tryouts will be held in the gym.

“Every year we are still a little bit nervous to try out,” sophomore Keiran Sheridan said. “It is something you anticipate but you really look forward to it because it is great to be with the team again and I can’t wait for next year.”

The tryout is open to any current West Shore students in grades seven through 11 and students trying out should wear clothes they can move around in and jazz shoes.

“I expect girls trying out to love dance and want to work hard as well as have fun.” Shaw said.

In order to tryout, dancers need a current physical and a parent permission form.

“I think that getting new members on the team will be great,” Sheridan said. “It is wonderful because we get to add more people to our dance-team family.”
