Volleyball team raising funds for summer camp

In order to raise money for the West Shore volleyball team camp held over the summer, players are taking part in a fund-raiser that involves selling coupons to any who are interested in aiding the team.

“It’s a program through Papa Johns where each player tries to sell 20 five-dollar coupons that include a free pizza and other discounts,” varsity coach Niki Anagnostis said. “Then, the proceeds go to the volleyball program to help fund for any players willing to go to this summer’s team camp.”

The camp will run June 6-9 in the West Shore gym and costs $195 per player. It is run by Gold Medal Squared, a program and system that sends Gold Medal certified coaches to the school to teach players methods that have shown success in every level of the sport.

“The camp is really great, so hopefully we get a lot of the coupons sold so all our players can come,” player Kylie Wenger said.
