Senior Dylan Morrongiello made the All-State Symphonic Orchestra on oboe for the second consecutive year and senior Jack Goffinet was accepted into the All-State Band on bass clarinet for the fifth year in a row.
The pair went through a rigorous audition process during All-State for Band on Sep. 24 at Edgewood Junior/Senior High School. From there, the students’ auditions were recorded and sent off to the state office to be judged.
“For the audition, I had to prepare two etudes, one technical and one lyrical, a chromatic scale, 12 major scales and sight-reading,” Morrongiello said. “I had been working for the audition since June.”
Only eight oboes and four bass clarinets were chosen from the state. Morrongiello and Goffinet will perform at the FMEA Clinic/Coference in Tampa in January.
