Spirit Volleyball tryout numbers slip

As the varsity girls’ volleyball season came to an end, many of the girls immediately swung into action with their Spirit Volleyball Club season starting.

With the tryout marking the beginning of their season, the girls were surprised to see the smallest turnout they’ve ever had.

“This year a lot of the girls, at least from our age group, didn’t end up playing simply because their parents rather they focus on schoolwork and preparation for college,” junior Jordan Dale said.

After the teams have had their first practice Sunday, the Spirit coaches are now going to have to reorganize the teams. Some of the girls that may have been moved up may end up having to come back down to play with younger girls in order to fulfill spots on those teams.
