Senior’s blood drive set for Tuesday

Senior John Bond has scheduled a blood drive on campus Tuesday as part of his Senior Project. The blood drive is an opportunity for eligible students and teachers to help the community  by giving a valuable donation.

“I chose to do this for my Senior Project because I’ve seen it happen every year, and I want to be a part of it,” Bond said.

In order to be eligible to donate, students must be at least 17 years old and a have a signed parent consent point. The Florida Blood Centers personnel will require an additional questionnaire to be completed by donors prior to boarding the Bloodmobile bus.

A blood test is the final step in determining eligibility. Once donors are confirmed to have enough hemoglobin in their blood, they are cleared to donate.

“Giving blood is a simple way to do good,” senior Jackie Sherry said. “I’m looking forward to doing it again this year.”

Students can sign up for the drive in the cafeteria Friday and Monday during lunch.
