The Senior Beta Club and Olive Garden restaurants are fund-raising for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society by having students donate spare change to their fourth-period classes. The money will to toward funding blood cancer research, education and patient services.
“More than anything, it’s for research,” Senior Beta Club sponsor Mary Mason said.
The fund-raiser will run until Feb. 28. The class that raises the most money will receive a pasta party during lunch from Olive Garden.
“I think if one student starts to donate, it will catch on and it makes it easier to make a difference,” Senior Beta member Bridget Hamilton said.
