Purrfections score top 10 in final competition

The varsity dance team received news Monday that they placed fourth out of 16 teams in the pom division and sixth out of 12 in the jazz division at their latest competition. The girls are thrilled considering the competition, the Contest of Champions, was a national level event.

“Our team was so excited because we did so, so well for a national competition,” freshman Bella Stazzone said. “We scored all in the 90s and we are overly enthusiastic because there were so many teams in our division.”

The event marked the end of the Purrfections’ season, which is to begin once again with tryouts starting on March 27. Everyone is very proud of how far the group has come in the past year.

“It feels great,” junior Jasmine Greathouse said. “I think collectively as a team we’ve worked as hard as we possibly could have throughout the whole year and couldn’t have finished the season off on a better note.”
