Orchestra takes break for holiday season

As the first semester of the school year comes to an end, orchestra students can look forward to time off from practice during the Winter Break.

“We have to practice every day in orchestra. We also have to take the music home and individually practice it,” junior Andrew Leonard said. “But it’s a worthwhile experience as it allows you to make music with lots of people.”

But time off from practice doesn’t mean orchestra isn’t already planning its next performance.

Leonard added that orchestra selected new repertoire for its next concert as soon as the Winter Concert ended last week.

According to director Maureen Fallon, the orchestra holds three major concerts every year. The first is the fall dessert concert, followed by a winter concert and then a spring concert which will take place on April 17 in the Eau Gallie High School Auditorium at 6:30 p.m. All parents and students are invited.
