Odyssey of the Mind has scheduled a meeting for Nov. 1 to establish this year’s teams. Interested students in grades seven through 12 and parents plan to assemble in the media center at 6 p.m.
Odyssey of the Mind is an international educational program that provides creative problem-solving opportunities for students from kindergarten through college. Team members apply their creativity to solve problems that range from building mechanical devices to presenting their own interpretation of literary classics. They then bring their solutions to competition on the local, state and world level. Thousands of teams from throughout the U.S. and from about 25 other countries participate in the program each year.
In 2009, West Shore’s team qualified for world competition at Iowa State University. That team consisted of Hannah Warshowsky, Philip Warshowsky, Christa Beck, Grace Beck, Aurora Filipski, Kelsey Savery and Kelly Ladd.
