Senior Class hopes to raise some dough

With the new year underway, the Senior Class is wasting no time by hosting a fund-raiser at Blaze Pizza in Viera on Friday from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in order to collect money for various activities including Grad Bash and Senior Breakfast.
By bringing in the flier or showing it on a phone before paying, the Senior Class will receive 20 percent of the proceeds from the meal.
“We’re all hoping on it being a success,” Senior Class President Minaal Murshid said. “Graduation Committee forms up soon, so it’s crucial that we get as much of the remaining fund-raising done now before we change our focus.”
Blaze Pizza recently opened its first location in Brevard back in September, so this event with the fast-casual pizza restaurant will be the first for any class or club on campus.
“Since Blaze [Pizza] is relatively new, we believe that more students will turn out just to give it a try, while also helping the Senior Class raise funds,” Murshid said.
Sophomore Bennett Kent says he is enthusiastic and has high hopes for the event.
“I’m definitely going,” he said. “I’m excited because if a lot of money gets raised, they could probably use the excess [money] towards the senior prank, and those are always really fun.”
