Middle-schoolers get ready for first play

Rehearsals are starting next week for the first middle school play of the year: “Survival of Ukokono.”

Eighth-grader Karlyn M. has mixed emotions regarding the upcoming performance.

“It’s the first time I’ve had lines in a play,” she said. “I’m really nervous, but I also can’t wait!”

Junior Piper Jenkins said she’s excited to help out the younger students with the play and take them under her wing.

“I remember doing this same play back when I was an eighth-grader,” Jenkins said. “I was helped out too by some upperclassmen, so why not help these guys out.”

“Survival of Ukokono” will be performed Nov. 19 with shows at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online and at the door.
