Math team kicks it up a notch

The math team continues to practice every Friday morning in Debra Jerdon’s room for upcoming competitions in Orlando in January, each one growing progressively more difficult.

“There were lots of problems I didn’t know they even exist,” junior Srimayi Tenali said. “Many of the problems look like they’re made for college professors, but it’s good that we’re learning new things and get more practice for the competitions.”

Jerdon said she hopes to expose the Alpha Theta members to the kinds of problems they’ll face at the competition. Some of the practice problems even scare members off.

“I stopped coming to the practice after the first one,”  junior Anton Samilian said. “The problems were crazy, and I thought they made a typo.”
