Lady Wildcats’ soccer season Ends

The Lady Wildcats’ soccer season ended with a 3-1 loss to Edgewood in the District 8-2A semifinal game at Melbourne Central Catholic on Wednesday. Sophomore Maci Pekmezian scored the only goal of the game for the Wildcats and the last one of the season.

Edgewood scoring first set a mental block inside Lady Wildcat the players, according to senior Alexa Carlos Tamez. They later tied the game, and the players regained their confidence, but then things went the other way.

Still, Carlos Tamez looked back at her final season with delight.

“I had so much fun this year,” she said. “I will miss all my teammates who I bonded with throughout the years, but I am truly happy to be a part of a fantastic team.”

Junior Jenna Franklin also expressed love for her team.

“This was a great season, and I will miss all the seniors this year,” she said. “I had so much fun, and I can’t wait to come back next year and do even better.”
