JV basketball already working toward next season

The Boys JV Basketball held their first informal practice since the end of the season Tuesday.

“I feel really good about this upcoming season,” freshman Drew Newlin said. “I believe that the team will put in a lot of work this off season and make next season all that we couldn’t do this season and more.”

Newlin has joined an AAU team which is a competing basketball team outside of school, to further his practice.

“I don’t just want to maintain my skills, but also become the best player I can possibly be,” he said.

He said he’s “already seen a lot of improvement since last season” and feels optimistic about the shape next season will take. On a personal level, Newlin said he thinks he will be better with all the work he will be putting in this off season.

“I think next season is going to be one of our best,” sophomore Trey Hatter said. “We’re all putting in a lot of work to be more prepared, and I’m very confident in our performance.”
