Golfers prepare for move to CCC

For the first time ever, West Shore sports will be competing in the Cape Coast Conference. That means beginning next fall, golf will become much more competitive.

“I don’t expect our record to be as good as the preceding years” Coach David Kendall said. “But it’s good for the boys to compete with better golfers who will probably end up in college. The boys also get to compete in the Space Coast conference tournament, which is good”

Eighth-grader Shane G. expressed some concerns regarding the change.

“It’s going to be very difficult next year,” he said. “The teams are going to be beating us by a mile. Their six is going to be better than our one.  Coach says it’ll be good for us, and I guess watching better players play along side me will be cool”

The team will be competing with schools such as Viera, which recently had a member get a full ride scholarship to play golf for Florida State University.
