Girls’ soccer humbles Holy Trinity 7-0

Senior Elana Barr scored three goals and senior Alexa Carlos Tamez and sophomore added another two each as the Lady Wildcats shut out Holy Trinity 7-0 in the last game of the regular season for the girls’ soccer team Tuesday.

“I thought we played really well overall tonight by limiting turnovers and having a lot of attacks on goal. We had a good amount of bench production which helps us bring our chemistry closer as we move further into the season,” sophomore Jonelle Plahuta said. “I think that we need to do a better job with passing to help our defense be more efficient.”

The Lady Wildcats now are looking to the postseason with district play soon approaching.

“I think defensively and in the midfield we were able to work better as a team which helped us tremendously and was something we really need to work on so the fact that we were able to do that during this game is something we need to carry into districts,” sophomore Tyanna Tizol said. “Our team is mainly focusing on our tougher opponents being Edgewood and Melbourne Central Catholic, along with how we need to work as a team.”

The Lady Wildcat’s kick off the first round of districts versus the Space Coast on Monday at 6 p.m.
