Girls’ basketball prepares for new season

The Lady Wildcats have begun preparing for their upcoming season before tryouts.

“I run and I shoot 100 shots every other day,” sophomore Victoria Hahn said. “Personally, I am hoping to be a more prominent defensive threat this year.”

The team lost half of last year’s varsity team to graduation, so with only five returning varsity players, the team will have many new faces.

“I am excited to have some of the younger girls move up to varsity who will hopefully make the season more fun,” senior Mary Billhartz said.

Tryouts begin Monday after school on the track from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

West Shore will open the season at home against Master’s Academy of Vero Beach on Nov. 17 at 6 p.m.
