Girls’ basketball open gyms at the school will be held every Saturday from noon to 2 p.m. Participants mostly will be working on shooting but also doing drills and learning new plays.

“Open gyms are not mandatory, but all girls who expect to be on the team should be coming,” varsity coach Dave D’Esposito said. “I hope to also see some new girls come out and work with the team so that they are ready for next season.”

Sophomore Jordan Bauer enjoys the atmosphere at the sessions.

“I usually have a lot of fun at open gyms,” the varsity player said. “We all get to be together as a team again and play basketball without the stress of preparing for games.”

The practices are open to and returning players or new girls who might want to participate in the basketball program next season.

“I think it would be really great if we had some new girls attend,” sophomore Victoria D’Esposito said. “We are all really nice and welcoming so anyone who would like to try basketball should definitely come.”
