FBLA state competition looms

The school Future Business Leaders of America chapter travel to Orlando on Thursday for a four-day state convention.

“I expect it to be fantastic as always,” FBLA president Joanna LaTorre said. “I hope the new members will have a first-year state conference experience as amazing as my first one was.”

Expectations are high and LaTorre along with her fellow competitors plan to excel.

“I also fully expect West Shore students to take full advantage of the opportunities thrown their way and to win their way to nationals since we seem to have a hard-working and ambitious group this year,” LaTorre said.

First-year attendees are looking forward to the experience while also hoping to make large strides in their first competition.

“I hope to have a good experience and learn from this and most of all do it with my friends” sophomore Matthew Marcinkowski said. “I also hope to place in my test.”

The competitions begin Friday and results will be announced Saturday evening.
