Dancers head to Contest of Champions

This weekend is marked and circled on sophomore Lindsey Hoffower’s calendar.

The Purrfections competition dance team will compete in the Contest of Champions competition at the ESPN Wide World of Sports.

“My hopes personally are for the team to do their best no matter the outcome,” Hoffower said. “We’ve all been practicing so hard. It will be nice to finally see if all we’ve done pays off. When we danced at regionals, we did really well, so I hope that this competition will also turn out well and we click when we’re on the stage. Our team also has a strong bond, which is something other teams don’t have, and hopefully can translate out when we dance.”

Sophomore Kathryn Carrick said she’s anxious going into the competition.

“Even though this competition isn’t like my last one or anything, I’m kind of nervous and really want to do good,” Carrick said. “We’ll be facing other school teams that are also really good, but we don’t much about them because they change every year.”
